MVVG Social Meet-ups in 2011
On the first Saturday of every month, Manchester Vegetarian and Vegan Group hold a social drop-in meeting at Eighth Day cafe, on Oxford Road in Manchester.
It begins at 1pm, lasts until 3-4pm, and you can drop-in whenever you like. We normally get something to eat but this isn't mandatory, and it's not a meeting in the traditional sense -- we just chat amongst ourselves.
Anybody with an interest in vegetarianism or veganism is invited to come along, and we always give a warm welcome to newcomers. If you can't spot us in the cafe area, just ask a member of staff. We usually occupy one or two of the benches to the left of the food serving area.
Here are the dates for 2011:
Saturday, 5th February 2011
Saturday, 5th March 2011

West Mids (Wolverhampton) Vegan Festival
(August 2010) Just a quick reminder that the West Midlands Vegan Festival takes place on the 30th October, 2010, at the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton. This is one of the biggest vegan festivals in the country outside of London. There will be over 80 stalls offering food, clothing, toiletries, cosmetics, and campaign info. Additionally, there will be speakers, films, cookery demos, children's activities, live music, and much more.
Admission is just £1, payable on the day at the door, and the doors open at 11am and close again at 5pm. For more information, visit http://www.midlandsveganfestival.org.uk.

Earth cafe reopens!
(August 2010) Earth cafe has reopened, after a two week shutdown for an overhaul.
The new Earth is as vegan as ever but now boasts a buffet approach to food and also a much more inexpensive range. Salad bowls can be had for as little as £2, making this one of the cheapest places to eat in Manchester (now that Cafe Mod Pop has moved to Oxford Road, Earth is now one of the ONLY vegetarian/vegan eateries in Manchester city centre). In short, it's well worth a visit if you're in the area. Vegetarians/vegans out shopping in Manchester should consider it their main option for getting a bite to eat - you won't be disappointed!
