The Manchester Vegan Festival's list of vegan eateries

<This is the contents of a regular email sent out by the organisers of the Manchester Vegan Festival>

Dear Manchester area vegan groups,

ALL GREATER MANCHESTER VEGAN/VEGETARIAN CAFES, ETC. BY AREA

Here is my new updated list of all of the now 26 vegan cafes, restaurants, bars, takeaways, caterers, and food delivery services, and vegan shops in the Greater Manchester area, and the 34 vegetarian/vegan ones (not sure if the health food shops sell things like vitamins with gelatine, like Holland and Barrett do, so they are not included).

It is the most comprehensive list there is, so please share on Facebook Thanks.

The 26 vegan businesses are in bold type, Gillie Food's vegan cafe in Oldham is opening very soon, end of April she said.

Incidentally, after Greater London's well over 50 vegan businesses of this type, and roughly 150 vegetarian ones, this is now the biggest number in the country.

Greater Manchester used to be well behind Brighton, with its currently 15 vegan cafes, restaurants, shops, and bars, plus some caterers, and dozen vegetarian ones, and Glasgow, with its currently roughly 10 vegan cafes, bars, etc. and similar number of vegetarian ones, but not anymore, as the numbers have exploded in the last 4 years from just 4 vegan cafes, shops, etc. (Unicorn, The Globe, Earth, a 1 branch of Go Falafel), to 26, possibly partly due to the explosion of vegan events in the area, which also began with our 1st Northern Vegan Festival 4 years ago, as that events explosion has created a lot more vegans (London VegFest and Bristol VegFest polls have shown that about 5-10% of people who come to such events go vegan), and has also possibly shown would be vegan business owners that there is now a lot of demand for vegan food.

Brighton and Glasgow have far fewer vegan festivals and fairs than Greater Manchester's now more than 10 a year.

All links to these places' website or Facebook work as of today.

Black Milk were not 100% vegetarian/vegan until this week, when I told them where to get vegan marshmallows, so once their old stock of gelatine marshmallows runs out their now 2 branches will both be 100% veggie/vegan, with a range of vegan milks (they have just opened a new one where V Revolution used to be, at 88, Oldham St.).
